Uppe was proud to be part of this year’s annual Sustainability Week held on 24-26 June 2019. One of our clients, BASF, was one of the main sponsors of the event which took place at the CSIR in Pretoria.

BASF, one of the world’s leading chemical companies and founding member of the Global Alliance to End Plastic Waste, specifically placed their focus on their sustainability-driven projects such as ChemCycling.

With the use of Uppe’s expertise as one of the leaders in agricultural marketing, BASF got the opportunity to showcase their core message: to create chemistry for their customers and society by making the best use of available resources, thus creating sustainable solutions for all.

Thought leaders, industry experts and government authorities gathered at the conference to share ideas and best practices regarding our environment and how we can work together to ensure its sustainability for generations to come.

Dr Michael Gotsche, Vice President and Head of Market area Africa, lead BASF’s delegation highlighted their focus on sustainability and their use of innovative technology to alleviate plastic waste. Gotsche also made mention of BASF’s positive developments regarding the ChemCycling project which converts plastic waste into chemicals that can be reused.

This year, Uppe was responsible for BASF’s stand at the conference which highlighted the company’s strive to creating sustainable solutions and their commitment to end plastic waste.
